Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Beach
A helicopter flying over a well-attended southern California shoreline abruptly started spinning out of control, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm trees as beachgoers observed.
Videos shared on the internet capture the helicopter starting to spin near the shoreline then plunging towards the perimeter of the coast, where it ends up lodged among palm trees and a staircase close to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders stated five people were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on that day.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Details on their injuries were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
