Explore 29 Fresh Game Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's company, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special event held at New York Comic Con. Is this a exciting new set or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you be the judge.

Take a look below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful context. Everything listed below releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into the many unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few surprising details. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where gamers can play powerful creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability since that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior designer stated. “However in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and the new ability will be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with special art created exclusively for the expansion by TMNT original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, many players were. But as per the developers, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:

Following the company’s current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for over a year and we knew it would be in standard and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” the designer commented. “We designed to ensure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red strategy focused on artifacts.

“They combine to offer the pieces for a fun Standard-legal deck,” he says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone instead of just one). Check them out for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is set at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to popularity. Wizards told that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an additional thirty-seven TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures shown above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck comes with 37 lands.)

What will the TMNT version of Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Regular land cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s basically a reprint of an older card with brand-new TMNT artwork. Wizards revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces on a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (aka, the reward for coming in first)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (for building your deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea is that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
