It’s so frustrating after you create the momentum, go to the following match, things go wrong. That emotion sometimes hurts me a lot. Also the players and above all the staff at the club. But it isn't my choice and I think it'd be extremely difficult to walk away if I haven't do everything to follow my path here.”

“It is an honor to be here and I wish to continue here and I want to fight for success. But the problem at present that causes me suffer is to lose games, not to lose my position. You worry about losing your job if you have to cover expenses and I don’t feel that pressure.”

We'll get to a stage that is impossible for all involved since United is a massive club with many sponsors, under dual ownership. So it’s hard, managing expectations is very difficult. What I want is to see my team – in victory or defeat – performing consistently and we are failing to do that.”

Amorim noted that the team had played in different systems under previous managers, also to no avail. “We must perform the same way, with the same power, with matching intensity, with the required focus. If we do that, the system won't matter which setup we use.”

Arrangements Regarding Mid-Season Friendlies

He announced plans to play lucrative mid-season exhibition games to help increase revenue missed due to failing to qualify for Europe. “We have to organize these and we knew it after missing out on Europe,” he explained. “We have our fans and financial needs and we want to be with supporters around the world.”
